Elite TEAM
Douglas Mains
Doug moved to Austin in 1986 to study music at the University of Texas and graduated with a Bachelors of Music in Theory/Composition. He began working with computers in music notation and recording which eventually led to the birth of Elite Computing of Austin in 1998. Combing the left brain and right brain in music and composition was a natural evolution and helps balance seemingly contrasting characteristics. He is still deeply involved with writing and performing and has his own line of professional trumpets under the name Austin Winds. He is married to Ariel Gray who also is an entrepreneur and is the proud owner of her business Earle’s Folly. They enjoy travelling and playing music together along with their dog Franklin "Dog" Roosevelt who sometimes sings along.
Shelby Parks
Born in Austin, TX, Clint has played with some of the finest musicians in the industry today. The musical climate in Austin throughout the nineties had reached great heights and had become a melting pot of musical talent and inspiration. Throughout that time Clint proved that he is comfortable and confident in all types of music. Clint showcased his talents in Jazz, Blues, R&B, Rock, Pop and even Industrial. He played with musicians who went on to perform with John Mayer, Janet Jackson, Robben Ford as well as other notables. At home or on stage as well as in the studio Clint’s endless work ethic has made him a go-to guy for producers, songwriters and bands. Continuing to strive for perfection and noted for his tireless attention to his craft, Clint Short is a name not soon to be forgotten.
Eric Mata
Eric arrived in Austin with Doug in 1986 to attend UT but finished at UNT with a Bachelors in Hospitality Management. After graduation he managed with Macaroni Grill at multiple Dallas restaurants before moving back to Austin in 1998 to open a store in Westlake. He teamed up with Doug again in the early 2000’s to learn computers and after a brief 3 year stint in California working on his own learning the business he returned to open an office with Elite. Eric is an avid sprint triathlete and 5k runner regularly placing in his age group. As the oldest grandchild on both sides of a large family he is at the center organizing events, travel and communication. He has two grown children – Angela (29), graduated Purdue in 2014 and Ryan (25), junior at UT.
Bacilio Mata
Bacilio wears many hats here at Elite Computing. He has moved from Austin but still is a part of the team and fills in frequently.
The Snowman
Elite Computing had a snowman on staff but unfortunately, The Snowman melted in the summer of 2015. We assumed that, much like Frosty, he would return every winter but much to our dismay, we have yet to catch a glimpse of The Snowman. We did find an old silk hat but apparently it was all used up because there wasn't any magic when we placed it atop a random puddle of water.
And so we grieve our beloved snowman and hope and believe he is out there somewhere dancing around.
